Is pairing up an Asus Xonar Essence STX with a Sennheiser G4ME ONE a good idea?

PancakeGiraffe

Hey, guys.

So, I bought a pair of Sennheiser G4ME ONEs a while ago. Not the best purchase I've made, I know. Now I'm considering getting a sound card since I read somewhere that the G4ME ONEs use the same drivers as the ones in the HD598s, meaning that this upgrade would be reasonable compared to using regular gaming headsets. Is it a good idea to get the Asus Xonar Essence STX for this headset? Should I get a lower-end sound card? Or should I not get one at all?

Thanks for future feedback!

What motherboard do you have? You shouldn't need one unless it's got really bad onboard sound.

Isn't the game one the one low impedance? Dampening factor would probably make the headset worse.

I though it was 150 or so, not that they need an amp anyway.

I think that is the zero. The one is the same as the PC360 but either way no need for a sound card.

Alright, I guess I'll hold off the sound card until I get a better pair of cans. Thanks for the advice, guys!

Don't go for the STX, the drivers are bugged and they won't update them any time soon.

I actually planned on using the UNi Xonar Drivers if I got the sound card. Are those also bugged?

Well it is an issue with the ASIO driver, had the same issue with WASAPI in foobar. Idk if UNi drivers fix it or not though
