Just upgraded Mobo, Case and PSU.. Now for CPU and GPU. Opinions?

SVThuh

So I was running a Gigabyte A320M board, Ryzen 3200G and 1650Super (mostly hand me down parts, all were second hand).  I decided this month to get froggy and jump on some upgrades.

I found a smoking deal on an MSI MEG X570 Unify mobo (guy bought it, opened the box, put it away and sold it to me for $150), and purchased a new Corsair RM750 PSU, and decided to stuff it in a new Lian Li LanCool 2 Mesh RGB case (white).  I already had 16gb of Crucial Ballistix RGB Memory

So now it looks good, it has good bones but the 3200G is lame and so is my 1650Super (these will get donated to a FreeNas or UnRaid box).  I was thinking about upgrading to a 5800X and a 6700XT.

Any reason why I should look elsewhere in my direction with this build?

Those would definitely be great upgrades, though how much is the 6700XT? If you want ray tracing you might want to look if Nvidia has any equivalent RTX 3070 cards available, if not a 6700 XT is a solid paring with a 5800X, my friend also recently purchased a 6700XT that he has paired with a 5600 and told him its performance is pretty good for his gaming needs.

CPU and GPU balance is not great for gaming, personally I'd suggest 5600x and 6800 XT.

5600X would still be great for the years to come, hardware unboxed judged it at least still be good for 5 years from now, although I'd wait till next month for the purchase seeing as AM5 is launching this month.

5800x and 6700 xt would net you less FPS than a 5600x and 6800 xt, GPU matters more in gaming.
