Personal pick, would've gone with a cheaper case and cheaper CPU, reallocate that budget to GPU.

i3-12100 is plenty for gaming on a budget, 12400 is on the mid range side.

No CPU cooler needed for a 12100.

Z690 boards are for overclocking, 12100 can't be OCed, changed to good board with WIFI.

Good value SSD.

High quality PSU, don't cheap out on PSU. Reference: https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

RTX 3060 Ti. Reference: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

750W PSU to negate the transient spikes.

Occassionaly visits the forum when I have nothing to do at work.

While both aforementioned builds can run latest AAA. Here's some extra details:

@Dukesilver27-'s 12100 + 3060ti - 'fresh' platform, but a bit less fps. If you might be considering further upgrades (like next gen).

@Somerandomtechyboi's 5600 + 3070 - dead platform, but a bit more performance.

This fall should be packed with announcements and releases, so some discounts on current hw is expected and it may affect your choices.

Imo just stick with the 5600 build, thing is if you dont go for atleast a 13600k youll still get alderlake, 13600k and up are the actual raptor lake cpus while below that is just rebadged alderlake

May aswell just swap platform entirely for 15th or 16th gen or whenever youd need to upgrade from a 5600
