Hi
It's the second time this week I have a sudden crash of my pc with a qcode 00. Screen goes black and fans are at 100%, i have to turn it off on the psu
The pc boots normally when I restart it but I'm worried something is actually failing, I read a code asus might be cpu, psu or motherboard related and I have absolutely no mean to test anything with another mb or cpu.
At first I thought it might be power plan related since I've tried to but the minimum cpu state at a lower % but it just did it again when I was playing a game.
The board is a dark hero crosshair VIII, cpu amd 5900x
I was using the same setting for two years without issues, oc with pbo and curve optimiser. I've just reset the oc settings to run it stock to see if it was the issue but it happens two times at a very different qxe atop one time I was just working on excel, second time when I was gaming.

Is my cpu or mb dying or can it be software / bios related knowing those settings were absolutely fine for a long time?

I've read it could also be because of bad settings or information remaining in the cmos battery and taking it off for a moment can solve it?
Thanks for the help

Fair amount of chatter on it on Asus's own forums...dying CPU, bent pins, power delivery to CPU (00 means no CPU detected.  Probably unlikely on the bent pins since it's been working.  Some mention of CMOS as well.  Couldn't hurt to clear CMOS, then try running it again without any other changes to see if it fails again.  Tried lightly jostling the box to see if it shuts off?  Got the latest BIOS (04/29 2022) that supposedly improves system stability)?  Could even be PSU maybe if there's something with the delivery of power to the mainboard perhaps considering 00 can occur with power delivery issues to CPU based on the Asus thread.

Might not be helpful since im using a p5q from 14+ years ago but while ram ocing this thing if i set a ram timing wrong but not to the point that it d4s constantly and i have to reset it, it 00s upon applying the timing but when i shut the psu off wait for it to discharge (light on mobo turns off) and turn the psu and it back on again it boots to bios normally (ex 1520 7-9-7-9 works first try but 7-9-6-9 will 00 but boot up fine the next time i turn it on after aformentioned steps)

The similarity is pretty close here so id check your rams first, disable xmp and let it run jedec cause unless youve got faulty sticks or even faulty ram channel/slot its guaranteed tp work at jedec speed

The other times i see 00 is just cpu incompatible not detected (usually the latter cause the sockets dirty and i need to spray it with 99% IPA to clean it and make it work again), bad bios (i like to crossflash and bios mod quite alot), and just not plugging in cpu power, but those are all "permaneant" 00 and they wont go away with just resetting the board and discharging the psu

Im using a pci debug card btw so thats why i know the codes

It's weird because I had no issues for a long time,

Only changed i've made is a new AIO and I read an overtight cooler can cause it so i've loseen it a bit.

i've also read that the software argus monitor could cause issue. I've removed it and set up my fans in bios
i'm still on bios 3801, should i update it?

the issue appeared once on desktop, once while gaming
I've just ran few cb20 run, no issues... (see pic for temps and score)
i've noticed that the CCD1 is quite warm at startup, 80c+ but just for  a few seconds is it normal ?

i'm running it with a less tight cooler to see.

If it still crashes i will use the a profile without any oc.

Should I remove the cmos battery and redo my whole overclock in that case?
