Hello All,

I am fairly new to the overclocking, I have read guides and all that and I know what i need to do,

However, when it comes to stress testing the CPU there are a wide range of opinions on programs and settings that various people use.

So, the question is... What program and exactly what settings/profile (eg. in prime: blend, small FFT, custom etc.) do you use for preliminary testing (to narrow down an overclock)?? and then what do you use as the final long period stability test???

Thanks in advance.

Prime 95 blend. Run for 30mins to 1 hour at first just to see if an OC is stable.

Then run it for as long as you can(12 hours recommended) to make sure an overclock is completely stable.

You can also run Intel Burn Test at the Very High setting to see how hot the CPU can get.
You can also use it to do preliminary testing, but stick with Prime 95 for final.
