Ventoy

I was searching for multiboot usb makers, cause rufus didn't have the functionality. My daily drivers are rufus and balenaEtcher. I used Ventoy for arch and puppy. In arch I was dropped into a Command Line interface from where Id didn't know what to do. And for puppy, there were some errors in finding critical files like .sfs files. So for me Ventoy was an annoying application from both Windows and Ubuntu side. Previously yumi failed me too. Which other reliable bootable usb makers can I use ?

(i genreally find all the software from https://alternativeto.net and follow their ranking system)

Ventoy's working just fine for me 🤷‍♂️

In the rare cases it doesn't then it's likely no other multiboot solution would have worked, need to write to a dedicated drive the "old fashioned" way or use a CD-ROM emulator box like iodd.

Since Ventoy didn't work, I used Rufus from Windows. Does Ventoy and Rufus use different technologies to create bootable usb drives ? Because rufus worked just fine (though in dd mode, not iso)

The iso form for Rufus is very nice since it allows the drive to be used as a usual also and doesn't make paritions or restrict writing files on it.

Rufus just replaces anything that's on the drive with the image contents.

Ventoy has a small loader that's able to mount any iso that's on the exfat partition at runtime, so yes very different. But it's the opposite, Ventoy allows you to use the drive to put other stuff too and it not needing to be wiped every time you need to boot something different...
