Hi guys,

Just in search for a good reliable 120GB/128GB SSD. I've added a poll to help me see what SSD you all are using.

Thanks in advance for your help.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Intel 520s or the Samsung 840 Pro. I had the 520s as my boot drive until recently when I upgraded to a Vector 256GB. The 520 drive is still being used as a storage drive,

I use 3 Kingston v 200+ 60GB in raid 0, never had a problem. plus my original corsair 60gb still going strong, it's in my laptop now :)
Personally I think they'll all fine ! Pick what ever selling at a good price, Intel always tend to be very expensive.
the larger the SSD, for what ever you can afford, the better. then in the future you can buy another as they go down in price for raid (only a suggestion)

I'm thinking about getting a 256GB SSD for my laptop, just so I can use to with a USB DJ mixer like the S4 and have minimal buffering, while using large 70mb wave files 1400 KBPS (best quality for sound)

How are you finding the vector? I might upgrade to it.

Just as good as the 840 Pro in my opinion. You won't notice any difference in day to day use. I would say the 840 Pro is still better since Samsung actually manufacturers every part of their SSD but the Vector has been quite consistent for me and I'm not disappointed by it at all.

So the general consensus at the moment is to go for the 840 Pro?

I was recently using an intel 520 120GB for OS and another for games.

Recently got a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB for games when started running out of room.

Currently have my Intel 520 in Raid 0 for OS and programs.

Both exceptional performance for their time of release. Have to recommend the 840 Pro if you want the best of the best at the moment.

Currently using an OCZ Agility 3 but the Samsung 840 Pro is more than likely going to be my upgrade soon.
