How much load is needed to reach the sweet-spot of a psu

90% 80% 95% ?

For 4770k and 780ti anything bronze or better 600w+ is enough.

So if my pc takes 850w i should get a 1200w psu just in case

1. To draw 850 watt's you need a tri sli build or something similair. 2. To have the highest efficeny under full load you would get 1700. 3. NO that is riduclous. The diffrence is 3% between the lowest point in the curve and the highest. Just get a 850 Wat PSU if your sytsem will draw 850 Watt.

depends on your cpu and overclock as well, if i remember correctly 3dmark recorded 220w from my i7 930 d0 alone while at 4.2Ghz during the cpu scenes in fire strike

edit; power draw

In gaming your GPU load can go to 100%. Depending on the type of the game and your CPU, the CPU usage can vary a lot 20 - 80 %.

CPU hit's full load pretty much only when you are doing 3D rendering etc. It's more common that only one core hits full load (in single threaded scenarios), which would for example show only as 12% usage in task manager for me since I have 8 threads (though it might be closer to ~25% in reality depending on the case, since 1 of 4 cores is actually loaded)...

it will if ,3D Mark11 at Max + running Prime 95 with a costume setup with max FFT + editing a 3D project in 4K ,it will , but it won't reach 100% under a non artificial load , at least not the CPU, GPU and Ram at the same time
