Use them, they don't have telemetry information that reports them to some secret room at Seagate where assassins are coming for you after a really dark meeting.

 

When you read what I wrote, and it sounds stupid and silly... yeah, it does.

 

Use the drives.  I mean that is if they're any good.

 

Also, I have no idea what an experimental drive is and what would be experimental about them and if they're stable.  Experimental usually means potentially unstable hence the "experiments" they're testing.

They likely were subject to torture tests to determine longevity and viability. Or they were tests to see if a new process works. 
 

Either way, I wouldn’t trust any data that actually matters on them. If your just playing around, sure. But I would trust them a lot less then I would trust a retail drive since they either have not fully developed teach in them, we’re subject to really harsh testing, or both.
