I own a Dell Optiplex 760 that I use for everything. (From Minecraft to homework)

I laggg alot on many games (Including minecraft)..................... And long story short, need a GPU

It needs to fit in a pretty tight space and shouldn't be connected to the psu.

My optiplex looks like so:

Edit: this one is super cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-GEFORCE-GTX750-TI-OC-2GB-DDR5-GTX750TI-OC-2GD5-video-capture-card-/360906159958?pt=TV_Tuner_Video_Capture_Devices&hash=item5407aef756

Wait.

How do I find that out again?

My rig is open right now...

Hey BS!!!

Is the slot low profile or full height?

It's definitely half height. You can tell just by looking at how thin the case is.

Just make sure you have 2 slots open for a 750 or 750 Ti.

I know this guy personally, dude. I know literally ALL HIS SPECS.

Why do you think I called him BS and he called me IM? Those are our initials.

I could tell.

What I can't tell is the point of this response though.

There really was no point to it but saying that I know him.

A 750 Ti fits his needs just where he lies. I know what he needs, he said he may do gameplay recording but in that case I would run a split from the VGA cable (he uses VGA) and back into a tuner card.

Go ghetto or go low profile.

The last low profile GPU I can recall seeing was something like a GT620. Not really a full "gaming" GPU.  OH I checked 1 website and it would appear there is both a low profile GT 640 (ZT-60203-10L) and a low profile R7 250 (R7-250A-ZLF4).

I would say go with the R7 250 as GDDR5 is the only advantage I can notice. And it's slightly newer hardware design.

OR...   Buy a case and a power supply and put the internals in a full size case with whatever card you like.

Get a low profile 750ti (hope it fits!) that does not have external power because the Dell PSU surely won't have connectors for it.

You will lose some performance but hey you can always overclock and it will still be a nice upgrade over your current solution.

Dell systems are super proprietary. The mobo probably wouldn't fit a standard ATX case, their cpu coolers are usually integrated into the case, so you'd need to pretty much overhaul everything. Dell are stoopid!

Tried that once, it didn't work... :(

Probably but it would be terrible you never want to buy a below 50 class card from nVidia.. Open up your case and see how much space you have and look at the dimensions of the card there should be enough space for a low profile 750 or 750ti.

It should but dont get it, it would just be a waste of money. Get something like this: Galaxy 750ti Slim (may be overkill for your pc though)

or if you want to go cheaper maybe an older card like the 650(ti) or 550(ti) slim versions. Maybe try buying one used?

looked up the specs for the Optiplex 760, it says the psu is rated at 305 watts and the 750 ti slim is recommended to have a minimum of a 300 watt psu. I'd say that would be the top gfx card you should buy to not push the stock psu too hard! (unless you upgraded??)
