CPU when eGPU is connected?

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

Keep in mind that thunderbolt 4 is at the best of case a pcie 3.0x4 link a gtx 1650 desktop is already maxing that out so anything better won't perform much better.

As for cooling yeah the cpu will have more cooling allocated so to say simply because the gpu wont be doing anything.

Hello,

I have the Razer Blade 13 (i7 1165G7, 1650 Ti, 120hz FHD screen, so on) and am considering a nice eGPU, most likely the razer core or some thunderbolt 4 one.

However, if I would get some super sweet gpu, what does the system do with the cpu? Will it disable the dedicated 1650 ti? Will it give all the cooling power to the cpu to get best performance? Will the cpu power limit get lifted for super performance??

Thanks for help.
