I wouldn’t bother with the FM2+ platform. That 6400 gets decimated by even dirt cheap haswell i5 based optiplexes these days.

hit up eBay, look for a cheap 9020 or equivalent from hp, Lenovo, etc

pick out some low profile low power gpu like a 1030, 1050, rx 550, rx 6400, gtx 1630, whatever you have in your budget

or if you get a mid tower version, you don’t need to do low profile gpus

also the 9020 specifically takes any power supply as it’s non proprietary, so you can upgrade the psu and toss a 3080 in it or whatever

find a decent sata ssd, and you’re good to go

in the US anyway in USD this is the best thing you can buy for $300, you can do better if you’re willing to modify some stuff

considering 300£ is around 350$, I would look for a mini tower (9020 MT), which is full width, then toss in a budget power supply and change your choice of gpu to something like a used gtx 970, 780, etc

the biggest thing here is that it’s not even worth attempting to drop any money into the FM2 system, you can spend 300$ on basically the best apu for it, 16gb of ddr3, the best gpu the apu can keep up with, whatever you want to toss on it, but it’s going to peak at worse than even the stock haswell i5 and mostly even the igpu on it can do

Thanks!!
