Help needed with upgrade

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

no in other games its fine but starmade is just that power hungry, if i had to choose between bf4 and starmade for wich was more cpu and ram demanding i would say starmade but it only bad in certain times like building ships, fighting other players / ai, or passing by other large ships. but when you are free roaming in the game you could get easaly 200 to 500 fps without any problems

That's because starmade is badly optimized. It doesn't really get better than the 4670k/4770k for gaming.

I want to upgrade my pc soon but i dont know what I should choose

What I want to do with this pc is gaming, streaming, video editing, overclocking and server hosting (arma 2/3, minecraft / tekkit, starmade) on it.

what I am thinking to get :

system 1 :

intel 4770K

asus R.O.G maximus VI extreme

and a duel channel 16gb ram kit.

system 2 :

intel 4930K

asus rampage Iv extreme

and a quad channel 16gb ram kit.

why i choose for the asus boards is beacuse i am going for a colour theme of red, black and dark grey.

Unless what you're doing requires the cpu horsepower or the money made from the time saved by getting the 4930k over the 4770k is more than the difference spent, it's not worth going 2011.

This. I think option 1 is the way to go.

The 4930K is better for video editing, while 4770K wins for gaming.

Agreed, the intel 6 cores are made for more intense processing such as video editing. But if you are looking for a gaming/streaming pc, there even wont be much of a difference between the i5 4670K and the i7 4770K.

lets say my minecraft, tekkit (150+ mods) and starmade are heavy on cpu and ram every time i play one of the games my cpu and ram go full 100% load.

starmade is the worst of the 3 a mate has a decent gaming machine and it gets dropped down to its knee's when playing it near large ships or building large ships (cpu 75% ish load and 8gb ram)

system 1 +- 600 euro

system 2 +- 950 euro

if your doing all of those things at once or even 2 or 3 of them at once i would go with 2011.

If that's happening with a 4770k, getting a 4930k wouldn't help.
