Hey so I upgraded my pc with new power supply and graphics cards. Been fine for a couple days now I have zero graphical output.

All fans spinning

GPU fans spinning and lit up

Tried both PCIE ports.

Disconnected all hard drives

Unplugged all periferals except display port/hdmi

Connected to motherboards Hdmi (although my cpu is AMD. No on board graphics I belive)

No post codes on the mother board on start up

PC doesn't switch off with one quick click of the power button leading me to belive it is posting and loading. As when it doesn't post it turns off with one quick click.

Tried every port on the gpu.

Tried my old graphics card I know is working (still no joy)

Really out of ideas at this point.

"Ryzen something". Not to be snarky, but no one can really help you without complete, specific and correct information.

Could be CPU to motherboard incompatibility by bios version for sure. If the PC won't post, could always pop the aio off and look at the top of it to find out what it is. Fresh thermal paste never hurts.

Also it's a MSI b450 tomahawk max mobo

I have prior experience with compatibility issues with an MSI mobo. Mine was also a B450, and refused to work with a GTX1650S I installed. Booted with the original GT1030, but the new GTX1650 gave a VGA light. Finally it shut down for good and required an RMA.

So, to review...

MSI B450M Tomahawk MAX mobo

Ryzen 3700X

3070ti, unknown

ROG 850W PSU (presumably Asus)

RAM unknown (specifics here would be good)

Some other specifics and specs would help here, RAM, RAM speed for instance.

As your 3700X does not have iGPU, the motherboard video port is useless here.

Not much to go on here, but with no video, I would check:

PCIe 6 or 6+2 power to the GPU

CPU 4 / 8 pin power to motherboard and other connections.

Make sure RAM is seated properly

BIOS version / update

The BIOS is likely because even though the B450 should support a 3700X out of the box, it isn't guaranteed. Even brand-new boards that say "5000 Ryzen ready" are sometimes requiring an update before a Zen3 will boot. Find out your BIOS version and see if you can find out whether it supports the 3700X or if you need an update. Mfr website should be helpful.

Though I think it's a little early to point the finger at the RAM yet, you should also look up the following to confirm any discrepancies:

Max supported RAM speed for motherboard.

Max supported RAM speed for CPU

Your RAM's max speed, default speed, and what it is OC'd to.

Also find out whether your RAM has been mfr tested on this board. I am in a situation where the board manufacturer has not certified my RAM kit, but the RAM manufacturer says it is compatible. Motherboard began acting stupid after a couple months, so who's right?

I don't know if this is a be-all end-all, but this might be your problem...

No listings for 3070 or 3070ti in GPU support listings, even with a BIOS update. It seems MSI is rather known for this sort of thing, at least in my experience. It might not be a be-all-end-all, but the site shows no support beyond the RTX2xxx series. I'd say you'll probably have to swap the board for a B550 (a BETTER B550, I'm not a fan of MSI) or swap the 3070ti for an RTX2xxx series to work with the board. You can try updating the BIOS to the latest version to see if that works, but beyond that, I don't have another solution here.

I took a look at the website and can confirm that I see the same thing. Looks like the best/most recent gpu that is officially supported by this motherboard is the 2080 super.

BTW, OP, I am running a Ryzen 3600X and RTX3060ti on an ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 without issue. That doesn't necessarily mean it supports the 3070ti, but stands to reason it will support most any RTX3xxx series. It would certainly appear MSI is playing games to make you buy one of their more expensive boards if you want to run a better GPU.

I think I paid around $75 on Amazon a week or two ago.
