Your going to need to put the fittings in before you mount the block anyways, although a straight fitting pointing directly down like that, it may be very difficult to route tubing like that. Usually someone would use an elbow of sorts. But, there is no reason it wouldn't come off, just have to twist it opposite way it went on. If you really forced it (which you don't need to do...), may need to use a vice grip or pliers to get a better grip on it and twist it off.
