Crazy High CPU temperatues

Go to solution Solved by GuiltySpark_,

I can almost guarantee that AIO is dead. I've been buying AIO's since the original H50 in like 2009 or something and the only ones that failed on my were similar vintage H100i's, so the same generation as yours. All appears to be working but temps just keep climbing. Just replace it with a $35 tower cooler.

Hello,

So I have an I5 4590 and I use an AOI, it's a Corsair H80i. All my drivers, bios and software are up to date.

Everything was working fine but I had to move and when I booted the pc in the new place it was hitting silly high temperatures.

Like 100° C while iddleling.

So I got new thermal paste(thermal grizzly) and reinstalled the whole thing. I also got my tubes higher than my pump this time.

I am still getting those really high temperatures.

Corsair link says my pump is working, I can feel the tubes vibrating when I touch them and there is only cold air coming from the radiator. I don't hear any bubbling or rattling sounds from the tubes or pump so I believe there is no air bubble.

I really don't know what else to do.

Could you guys give me a hand?

Thanks!

Also, I hope I posted everything that was relevant here sorry if I missed something.

The AIO just don't work, maybe the pump works but it's so old coolant evaporated out, maybe some kludge blocks the flow, whatever...

But  you cannot purge or refill it, so just get another cooler 🙂

Isn't there a way for me to be sure?

The aio is sort of old.

Got it in 2015. Do they have like a number os years that they are suppost to work?

maybe try to give your radiator a shake while holding it above the pump, worked for me twice before, also make sure you have no bubble problem, or just replace the AIO if its old, a 4th generation i5 doesn't need an aio anyways it's kinda overkill

I don't think I have bubbles but I will try shaking it anyway. The AIO is from 2015.

It's when I got the cpu aswell. Is that old?

it is pretty old indeed, it's still a good cpu anyways. but it doesn't need an AIO at all, any air cooler would work well with it
