It'll save you time, and time is money. And £330 is a great value. It's probably worth it.

I planned to upgrade a bit in the future (few months down the line), but the sale is actually not half bad.

Is it worth upgrading now, if I have no real need to at the moment, or should I just stick with the original plan, since in a few months therell be another sale anyway.

Thats fair ^^ I didnt wanna ask too many questions in one thread, was more looking for "should i upgrade at all" rather than "what should I get"

Ive got a 3600, since building this rig blender has become my job, so I wanted a better CPU to make a lot of the processes faster,

budget maxes at £300, so 5700 5800 range.

32gb of ram, 2070 super (upgrading that in the future), asus prime x470 mobo. Etc

The 5900X is £330 now, you should really get it if you blender for work, it's +50% all cores performance vs a 5800X (12 cores to 8)

System : AMD R9 5900X / Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO/ 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600CL18 ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Eisbaer 280mm AIO (with 2xArctic P14 fans) / 2TB Crucial T500  NVme + 2TB WD SN850 NVme + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD drives/ Corsair RM850x PSU/  Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / Logitech G915TKL keyboard (wireless) / Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

Yeah?  I was thinking of saving money and getting the 5700x, but if you really think its worth the £100 then I can deal with it.

If you do a lot of cpu rendering and not gpu rendering then defo worth. 5950x is also that price used or less

Theyll go for the same launch price probably and of course perform better. So the usual. If ya need a very good value upgrade do it now with a new/used 5900x/5950x. The next 12 core wont be cheap either

Sorry I did not say it properly.

I am worried that the 5000 series will go for cheaper than now, when 7000 comes out. I never buy the latest when it comes out. Waste of money imo.

Could happen but also could not. What often happens is when a new cpu gen comes out and an old socket goes end of life the higher/highest end cpus quickly spike up in price whilst the mid and lower end falls deep.

Don't think so, it already dropped quite a lot (except the 580X3D) and new 7000s will just be more expensive by around 25%, with 15-20% more performance and the rest as a premium
