So, a while ago, I said something about my mouse holds clicks even after I'm not holding the mouse buttons anymore. This only happens in game, but I'll be sniping, and my mouse will hold the scope and fire buttons and empty a clip until I click the buttons again. This problem only happens with this mouse and it's starting to happen way more often than it was. I hope I'm explaining this problem well, but I feel like I'm not. If you have the idea, is there like a physical reason my mouse would be doing this? Maybe there's a problem with Windows 11 that I am completely unaware of. It's driving me insane, and I can't seem to figure out why it's happening or how to stop it. I did get extremely annoyed with this problem and because my co op partner died this morning because of it, I, in a fit of rage, slammed the mouse down on my desk (which I'm surprised I didn't shatter it like a ps3 controller), and I really hate saying this, but seemed to stop the problem for a little while before starting to do it again here and there. This makes me think there might be a physical problem with the mouse. Any ideas on how I can get this problem to at least slow down until Kensington decides to restock the mouse so I can buy another?

Replace the switch. It's pretty trivial to do on most mice. I just did mine recently and it took about 10 minutes.

Sounds like worn out switch to me.

It could be. It would suck though seeing as how I only just bought this mouse like not even a year ago. I mean, I use the hell out of it.

It's a Kensington Orbit with scroll ring wired. The switches are this strange little thing I don't see in other mice. I'm not even sure they can be replaced or worked on. I can't seem to find teardowns either.

This looks like what you need. Looking at your mouse, it's way more simple than most other mice. This should take 5 minutes to replace.

I might try that. Just in case I destroy it in the process, I bought another mouse, wireless this time. Kensington only had the white version and I'll have to paint it myself, but yeah, these are the switches I see in the mouse and I didn't think you meant actually replace, but to open then up and pull the copper out. If that's the case, I have another mouse exactly the same but with a left double click issue. Right is fine tho. I could try switching the two.

No I mean absolutely replacing them. It's incredibly easy to do. I get attached to my mice and hate getting used to a new one. Switches are the most common failure point, so I learned how to repair rather than replace 😉
