So I've gone through literal hell recently getting my PC up and running. From RMAs to so many new parts I can't even begin to type them all out. I thought it would be all smooth sailing once I got it to post, but now I'm being treated by one terrible error.

Windows says my PC is incompatible with the OS.

I've got a Ryzen 5 3600, an RX 6600, 32 GB of RAM and two terabytes of storage. What do you mean, Windows?

I've enabled firmware TPM in my bios (Asus B550m) and I tried to enable Secure Boot but it lists the state as "user", so everything should be smooth sailing...right? Has anyone else had any luck getting this OS to actually install?

It's initial install onto a brand new boot drive, and the error is it simply telling me "This PC can't run Windows 11" right after I click on what version I want to install.

UPDATE: Something was screwy and it wasn't booting into UEFI mode. It's all fixed now.

  • Make sure that CSM is disabled
  • UEFI is enabled
  • Secure Boot OS Type should be set to: "Windows UEFI Mode"
