Budget (including currency): about $1100-1400 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and streaming.  Mainly I play EU4, Cities Skylines, and Civ V but I want to start playing from what I got in the steam summer sale: Detroit Become Human, Skywalker Saga, and Madden 22

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have a monitor at 75 hz and 1080p and I think that should satisfy me for a few years at least so don't really need anything that would take it over that.  Also, I don't think I want a motherboard without at least two hdmi.  I've only had an intel 2017 MacBook Pro and yes I have gamed on it for years, mainly EU4 and Cities skylines and that's not really working anymore, especially in the end game.  I've been watching LTT videos and channels for a few years now and took advantage of prime day and Steam summer sale to buy some stuff so now I want to finally build a PC.  Also, on one of the last WAN shows Linus was talking about a lot of people not really paying for windows so I'd also like to take that chunk out if I can as well.  Also, the PC is not going to be that visible (smaller desk so it will be under table out of the way) so I don't need a cool case or RGB if it costs more.

please don't be hesitant to ask any clarifying questions.  I'm very new to this and am open to suggestions

the attached picture is what BuildRedux recommends but they didn't really have any games I play on there and I don't really know what types of games were suggested to pick similar ones.  I am in no way tied down to the websites suggestions

Seems like the games you're playing aren't that heavy on GPU but require a good CPU, which is why I went with the 12700F and RX 6600 XT. You could spend a bit extra on the Sapphire RX 6600 XT 8 GB NITRO+ if you want a quiet GPU.

I was talking to my friend earlier who built a pc about the storage.  I don't think ill be playing that many games for them to overflow onto an external drive.  I was thinking I would get 500mb of internal storage and 2 tb of external.  what do you think

I would get at least 1TB of storage. 500GB might be enough now, but not in the future when games get bigger and bigger. I also bought my PC thinking 500GB was enough, but I had to buy extra storage a year later simply because it wasn't enough. Don't make the same mistake I and a lot of others did.

that makes sense.  I saw BiotechBen's suggestion and it had 2tb internal storage for just $50

can you explain?

Graphics card should have at least one HDMI and a few DP. if nothing else: run HDMI from your graphics card and mobo and use an adapter from DP->HDMI if needed for more screens. I use one on my RX 480 and it works fine just fine.

I'm sorry to do this to you but I don't understand exactly what you're saying.  Could you clarify "DP", "mobo".  I'll probably have two monitors.  So if the graphics card plus the two monitors can work as they are supposed to, then im guessing your motherboard should be fine

I don't fully agree on this one.

GPU: You can find an RX 6600 XT for quite a bit cheaper. They're also a little bit faster, and consume less power.

SSD: Why an RGB one? OP doesn't really care, so might as well save money on a cheaper one that will perform just as good.

Motherboard: Most of ASRock's recent boards are complete trash. This one doesn't seem any better than the other ones.

CPU: 12600KF isn't a bad choice, but I would recommend spending $50 extra for a 12700F.

Was reputable brand dram cache, and second least expensive, somebody must be running a sale on it, coincidental that it has RGB. KF is unlocked, F is not. Decent OC on KF will get you near i9 territory, board is from my experience with ASRock being pretty decent, 3060 and 6600xt are interchangable here. this is just a standard build at $1300 I've made. if op wants to start streaming, Nvidia is better for that with nvenc,

Overclocking on 12th gen doesn't really give as big of a performance boost as it did on older CPU's. The extra cores on the i7 are way more worth it imo. I've also had great experiences with ASRock, but their 500 and 600 Intel boards really aren't good, which is shown by HUB. Their 400 series Intel boards and below and all AMD boards are pretty good. Only reason I would recommend them for 12th gen is their customer support which is better than others from my experience. AMD isn't as far behind with streaming as people say, and the difference got even smaller with the recent update to their encoder. Just need to wait for programs like OBS to add support for it, I think SLOBS already has it.

DP = Display Port, mobo = motherboard.

So you don't need to worry about the motherboard connectors if your graphics card has 2 x HDMI ports.

This Gigabyte RX 6600 XT for example has 2 x HDMI and 2 x DP ports. So you would connect your monitors directly to the graphics card.

Can you explain why there are two storage options? The

Gigabyte AORUS RGB 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

 is $217 and the

Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive is $50.  Do I need both of these for your build or could I just have the 2tb from seagate for $50 and take my cost down $217? Because 2tb is more than enough for me

That should be Lower but apparently it's being scalped rn which is an odd product to do that for. But please don't use hdd only, it's really bad compared to an ssd. If you're content with 2tb I'd go with something like this

This should be everything you want. It's a great little gaming PC. For the Windows license just look up "cheap Windows key" and you should find a couple for $20.

I feel like I'm leaning to your build the most but I made a few adjustments I like. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p3PnyK But does anyone want to point out anything they don't like about it? If not I'll probably purchase it all in the next two days

I mean, I'm not a big fan of the motherboard and the case, you can do a lot better with both of those for ~$30 more in total, but they're OK for this system.

The nvme was super on sale at the time, now it is not. Dual storage is for latency sensitive applications on NVMe and non latency sensitive applications on the mass storage.
