Currently need 987, just going for a little more if needed in the future.

Then yes 1200w is ideal choice.

Was looking to get EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 80+ Platinum. Never had a EVGA before just wondering what people that have them think. A lot of good reviews and bad online. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Its really one of the best PSU in the market, here's a PSU tier list for further info also same PSU just a bit cheaper from EVGA store or from Newegg.

Cheaper PSUs Phanteks revolt XSilverstone striderCorsair HX and Be Quiet stright power 11.

Are you sure you need that much power?

Multi rail is just a protection, much like over power protection or over temperature protection. So e.g. if something goes wrong and a hard drive is pulling like 1000W from the SATA cable, it safely shuts down. Single rail means the manufacturer skimped and omitted that protection, so a hard drive pulling 1000W from the 12V rail would not cause the PSU to shut down.

What are your specs? Since you have an exact number, I'm guessing you went to a PSU calculator. Those are just used to waste people's time and give affiliate links, while being no more useful than a random number generator. They give arbitrary and dubiously high power consumption numbers for things like RAM, motherboard, fans and storage devices, while being completely useless for things like transient spikes from GPUs.
