I'm starting to look into sound cards heavily now due to the fact that the highs and mids are terrible with the onboard sound my Sabertooth Z87 has.

Are you sure that your speakers/Headphones don't have horrible Highs and Mids?

That might also be the case, I know my headphones/headset overall sound is terrible(Turtle Beach PX22). And my surrond sound I'm not to sure what's going on with it at this point, I own a set of Logitech z506 5.1 surround, And lows are amazing with it just it's struggling with the mids and highs for me

Logitech Z506 aren't the best speakers.

Logitech Z506 aren't the best speakers.

Even I know that but they are great for the price I paid for them.

Know does anyone have any recommendations on surround sound systems? I'm probably looking at spending around 200$ or more I wanna get the best I can get.

A sound card isn't going to do squat.

You won't get much better speakers for $200.

Your best bet is to stick with headphones (good speakers are easily 8-10x the cost of a decent pair of headphones).

AKG K612's are less than 200 and don't need any special amplification.

How do those K612 compare to Phillips Fidelio X1? Thinking about getting one of those.

"Head over to head-fi.org if you want to get opinions from guys who know more than me." lel

How do the K612 compare to the K701?

From what I remember the k701's have a lot better build quality and sound slightly better, but the headband is one of the worst. Hard plastic bumps did into your head it's unbearable for me after about 30 minutes.
