Displayport Probs...

Ok so a couple of days ago I bought a DVI to Displayport adapter so I could stop borrowing an HDMI to DVI cable from a friend and when I set it up at first everything worked fine, I setup Nvidia Surround without any problems or glitches. Now I've been wanting to see what red orchestra 2 looks like in Surround for a while and it's been being wierd lately and not showing any options in the setting other then in the video section but that's not the problem. So I started up Red orchestra 2 in surround and same glitch as always so I thought let's see if surround may be causing this for some odd reason and so I used the keyboard shortcut to disable surround and as always my monitors went dark and came back like they always do when I do this but this time the monitor hooked up to the DP adapter didn't come back so I tried to reinstall the nvidia drivers, I reverted from a backup I had of a week ago when things were working and I tested all the wires and monitors to make sure they worked but I'm still on the fence if it's either my GPU's DP gone bad or the adapter and I really don't want it to be either because I'm hoping someone knows maybe a software trick or two to reactivate the DP on my GPU, they were working before I don't see waht could've gone wrong.
