Seagate hard drive problem

Hey guys, got my self a 2TB Seagate drive from amazon this is the second replacement but both drives do the this weird noise. Anyone knows what this might be? Plus i found this on youtube. Its close enough if not similar. Thanks

Do you have something like HwInfo running? By default that will ask the drive to do a self-test every 2 seconds and that's the kind of sound it can make when doing so.

You would usually know if you installed some hardware monitoring tools.

so basically there is nothing wrong with the drive, what about the video on youtube it sounds similar

Hey there , so i checked and i dont think i have any hardware monitoring tools, but even if i did wouldn't all the drives be affected and therefore do that sound, cause i have another seagate drive, this one is 1tb and it doesn't do any sounds .

Not necessarily, some drives are much more silent than others. But if you don't have anything then that's probably not the reason...
