good day everyone,

random question here... i've got a gigabyte z590 master mobo, which comes solely with a displayport jack. i am using my samsung 4k tv as a monitor (with a displayport to hdmi adapter), but cannot get access to the bios.

now i am aware that bios uses a different video output, but even connecting to a monitor with displayport, it still wont show up on the screen. add the fact that the mobo has no other display jacks, im not able to use vga or dvi.

are there any settings i can change on the system to control the display of bios, or any terminal type programs i can use to access bios at all?

super frustrating.

i dont currently have a graphics card installed to the system. just running off integrated graphics (intel i7-11700k).

any help is greatly appreciated!

thanks!

Have you tried just spamming the delete key to get into your bios when your system powers on? Sometimes it wont display the boot icon before its already past that.

not sure if your saying you can't get to bios, or you can't see the bios. if you can't get into the bios, try clicking restart under the start menu while holding the shift key. that will get you to the menu where you can click advanced startup, and select boot to uefi.

Sorry, I can’t see bios.
The tv and monitors just say no source. I can open the gigabyte app on the pc and hit boot to bios and the system will restart, beep like it’s entering bios, but I get no pickup on the screen. Just says no source. Then when I hit reset, it boots normal and screen shows up at the login screen

That sounds like a handshake problem between the TV and computer. Do you have a different display that you can try?
