Program Files folder and Permissions?

I'm not sure if the administration permissions are required for inside of the Windows 10 Program Files folder. Is it always been there before at the beginning of a freshly installed OS? 🤔

Program Files (including: "Program Files (x86)", and "Program Files (ARM)" (visible only to ARM64 versions of Windows), requires true Administrator access.

Under Windows, since Vista, no one is true Administrator.

 

Actual permissions are as follows:

  • ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES (Read, list, and execute)
  • ALL RESTRICTED APPLICATION PACKAGES (Read, list, and execute)
  • CREATOR OWNER  (special permissions)
  • SYSTEM (special permissions)
  • Administrators (special permissions)
  • Users (Read, list, and execute)
  • TrustedInstaller (Special permissions and list)
