Bit slow and now I’m getting a CPU overheat message when I restart my PC

Probably cooler got loose. So basically take it off, clean off the thermal paste, put new paste on and reseat the cooler.

In the meantime DO NOT USE IT.

As for curiosity, what case did you come from and move to?

if the temps are bad enough to give you a message about it then you probably messed up the cooler installation. Take off cooler, clean off old thermal paste and put new stuff, then reinstall it and make sure all screws and other things are tightened evenly and tightly.

Also make sure there isnt lots of dust in it.

also if you dont have any thermal paste left then you can get something like noctua nt-h2 for around 12 dollars.

and you should always use fresh thermal paste when reinstalling a cooler otherwise the temps wont be as good.

I went from a Fractal define me sift C but I needed a new one because I got a 3080 on the way and it wouldn’t fit so I bought a Phanteks P600s it’s very large

You did get a case with quite a lot less airflow so that can also impact it. But my bet is still on a cooler that got knocked around a bit and needs new paste + a remount.

The P600S is pretty good in "High performance mode" with the front panel acoustic panel removed.
