I'm running a Razer Blade 14 (2021), the only thing I didn't like about this laptop (outside of it's branding), was the storage. But it was a removable M.2, so figured I could just replace that 1TB later on with a 4TB+.

The issue is that everything is packed in so tight, that even a regular double sided M.2 won't fit, it's too thick. You can only use a single sided one, or in a rare case, one that has the memory in the right spots.

1 of those do exist (WD SN750), but it's 2x the price of other 4TB ones.

On top of that I've read messages from people saying that the 2TB's they bought, have been using up too much power, causing issues for the laptop.

So I probably just have to go for an external 4TB. The cheapest ones being the Samsung 870 QVO 4TB and the Crucial MX500 2,5" 4TB, they are at least over 60 euro cheaper than the models after that, making them the most affordable for sure.

My usage will be simple, games, games and games. I'm sure I'll throw my pictures on there as an extra back up, and who knows what else might end up there, but generally speaking it will be games. I of course still have my internal storage for games that need the extra boost in read speed, but the question is, will these be good enough, as in not a bottleneck, and just good drives in general? Would 1 be the better choice?

Edit: did more research, found out that the crucial is the better of the 2 due to I believe the controller. It should be more than fast enough for gaming. I will test this out for a while and hopefully remember to update this, so that if someone finds this while searching, they got the answer. If I didn't, feel free to hit me up and I'll update.
