Comparison - Two TV Choices

Go to solution Solved by LAwLz,

The Sony TV is a lot better, but it is hard to say if it's worth the extra 300 dollars.

The biggest difference than I can see just by looking at the spec sheet, is that the Sony TV is 120Hz while the Xiaomi one is 60Hz. Doesn't matter much if you only view regular video content that is 24 or 30 FPS, but good to keep in mind.

Hello everyone,
I am a TV Noob and I will really appreciate some help because I cannot find a site in which I can compare reviews of the following two TVs -

1. Xiaomi Mi Q1E QLED 55''
2. Sony x90J 55"

Usage : mainly TV shows over movies

Now I understand that the Sony should be a lot better but jn my country it is also about 300$ more expensive and I am trying to understand if it is worth it.

Xiaomi sounds "shiny" with the Qled title though I know it doesn't mean much..

Would very much appreciate it if anyone can assist with the choice as only the Sony tv is on Rtings.

Thank you!

First of, thanks alot for your reply!

I see, I do not plan to plug a ps5 for 120hz content or view some sort of special 120hz content. I guess ill go for the Xiaomi then because I am upgrading from a 47" 1080p 😅

Did you perhaps manage to find a review that is talking about low light content on the Xiaomi though? Wondering about its performance there.

Also, when you say alot better, in what aspects is the sony tv alot better other than the 120hz? On paper the QLED should be better for contrast no?

Thanks again!

I had personally seen the Xiaomi TV and I not impress with it, it is not very bright and for that brightness I believe it will not look good in HDR.

That Sony is FALD TV which is one of the good point for HDR content. Sony also very well known provide great TV output.

I had seen Sony previous gen of this series and it is very good and impress me.

I suggest you go for Sony instead of Xiaomi.
