Does the game crash, or does the entire system crash?

How are your hardware temperatures?

Dude it can simply be a instable GPU clock simply. Download MSI Afterburner and try to lower the clock rate/voltage

You're not answering simple questions to help us determine what could be happening...

Is the laptop getting super hot?

I think it's a GPU clock that turns the game into Alt + F4 simulator somehow

Not just GPU. Could be the CPU getting too hot. I ask because laptops often lack good cooling solutions as a whole. Like is it burning up in your lap while you play?

Could be! I just know thermal throttling is so real with certain laptop models.

Oh definitely, but that shouldn't really crash the game, it should throttle the performance as low as it possibly can

I've had laptops that literally kill power from heat issues, which I would call a crash. But then the question is: Is the laptop crashing, or is the game crashing and the laptop is still on and functioning? @jackson67

Not without properly identifying what the issue is... If it is overheating, then perhaps reapplying thermal paste, cleaning any cooling elements for hair and dust, and potentially undervolting elements that are overheating are options. But that might not be the problem...

ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT.

According to a google search, this indicates you need to update your graphics drivers.

Is your GPU overclocked?
