What kind of ssd or what version of an ssd do i need for msi a320m a pro m.2 mobo?

That board doesn't have an M.2 slot from what I can tell, so you would be limited to a 2.5" SATA SSD.

There is a a320m model of that board that does have an m.2.

Any standard PCIe Gen 3 NVMe SSD would be fine.

Ah another great naming scheme from MSI. I searched a320m-a pro. No idea why they would have a non m.2 version as well.

Sorry I looked at the wrong board. Seems there are two versions one with M.2 and one without.

 

Anyway you can fit a normal gen 3 ssd in it. So a Samsung 970 evo is one example. Guess it depends on your budget. 

 

Just bear in mind it will run at half speed if you have a Athlon, A-Series or Athlon X4 cpu according to the spec data.
