I just built a brand new system. I plug everything in put my drives in anddddd it fails to start. Startup repair won't work. And I'm just lost . It will only launch up too advanced options.

Do you have a video of this if you please share it as it will make this easier to diagnose

Please read the "read before asking for help" stickied thread on this subforum, then edit your post according to its guidelines so people have enough information to offer meaningful advice.

Startup repair implies Windows is already installed. Did you transfer a drive with Windows installed on it from an old system?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Just back up any critical data and then do a fresh install of Windows.

It won't give me an option for that

There is no such option. Create the install media on a USB stick as usual and start fresh.

FWIW, if you have multiple M.2s, there have been instances of Windows putting one or more startup files on the second drive, which then caused problems when migrated to another system. Not sure if this is your issue or if your existing Windows installation's data simply won't work with the new components, but is this Windows 10 or 11?

It's windows 10. The only components that were changed were the CPU and RAM everything else is the same

There are situations when the new configuration is just different enough that a fresh install is required, but it's generally a good idea anyway.

I can't do that cause I don't have any USB sticks or anything with me

Go get one?

You just built a whole new system where you presumably spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on parts (we don't know for sure because you've still never posted specs like the stickied thread says to) and you're letting lack of a USB stick that costs less than $5 hold you up?

Is there a way to reset the pc without a USB drive I only have the pc on hand

Not really, without a DVD or bootable USB you're out of luck for the moment. And you may have to restore the previous CPU and RAM to create a bootable USB, unless you have a friend with the same version of Windows currently running.

It might be pertinent to point out that in the US, at least, it is late evening and most stores that sell such things are either closed or about to close.

I live in the US, I'm aware. It's not urgent he gets the system running tonight.

Restore the old hardware configuration and if Windows boots create the install media. If not, then borrow a friend's laptop or something and do it.

I will try starting from a previous point.

But a error I do get every boot is system_thread_exception_not_handled
