Disassembling laptop

Hey guys! So I found this ancient Acer laptop, that is pretty much dead, but I think not all in it is, and I want to remove its hard drive, to see if I can salvage some stuff from it. I would need some advice, to where to look for it, how should I removve it, without damaging it, and stuff. Any help is appreciated! (I can send more pictures if required)

That's an IDE hard drive, and will not be useful in 99.99% of things you might want to use it for, unfortunately. You would want it to be a SATA drive to be useful.

Slide (direction of red arrows) the HDD towards the end (two red lines).

Then you can lift it out.

That is very correct.
Also the wifi card is still PCI, and not the commonly used PCIe.
Same goes for the ancient SODIMM DDR2 RAM.

 

 

Oh and the wifi card and RAM can be removed by bending the little metal tabs outwards, which should lift the board a little and then you can easily pull it out.

I am not planning on actively using them, since this is some ancient hardware, I just want to see, if there is any data on that drive left.
