According to the two line description, its just making a section of the RAM act as if it were a disk drive.

RAMDisk is basically using your ram as like a hard drive and using the ram as a disk will be way faster than a SSD.

Pretty much the AMD RAMdisc, but free! I use it and it works great.

 

Here is a crystal disk mark of my RAM disc:
