Upgrading CPU, Budget $600 is this good?

I'd change to a Ryzen 7 5700x, the performance is almost the same and you save a few bucks.

Seems odd to spend $80 on a 4 pipe air cooler.  There are similar things that can be had for half that.  Seems more like the price for a 6 pipe cooler. 

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

With that budget you could get a 5900X (C$500) and a Deepcool AK620 (6 pipes C$70)

A Deepcool AK620 won't fit in the Q300L.
