Some of my games are

banished

Kerbal space program

Pine

Stranded deep

Satisfactory

Destroy all humans

Fallout 4

Farming sim 19

And so on so forth... all i care about is the games running smoothly and looking decent ... the current setup lets me play sometimes othertimes it boots me out of the game completley

I just want a usable gaming system that wont lag out or boot me

I would say the 6600 XT and 12400F would be good, unless the 3060 is cheaper (which it usually isn't). If you really want to save money you could get the regular RX 6600, but in the US it's only $30 less and it's about 15% slower.

I have an old pc thats running pretty poorly. I wanted to throw in a new gpu i was told i should go to a 5000 -  or 6000 series card. My current gpu is an asus geforce gtx 760 direct cu II 2 gb gddr5. The current mobo in the system is an msi b85-g43 gaming mb. All i want to change is the gpu and would like to stay under a thousand what should i do? Please help.

It would probably be best building a new system (1000 should be enough). Maybe you could keep the case and storage, and maybe PSU too if it's good enough (but it's probably old so will likely need replacement soon).

Assuming you're keeping the case and storage, this should be good.

If you really only want to replace the GPU just get something like a 5500 XT or 6500 XT. Even then you'll be CPU bottlenecked with such an old system.

Yeah that's a pretty balanced system, so to see a performance improvement you'll really need a better CPU and GPU. I think you should definitely get a new PSU as 600w would be close for a 6750 XT (if you go with the build above) and it's just old.

I'd just build the system above and buy a cheap 240gb SSD for this one and sell or reuse it.

That's the best if you want good performance as upgrading your current one will not give any big boosts.

Depends on what you plan on doing with the system. If it's gaming at 1080p you could get a 12100F or 12400F with an RX 6600, RX 6600 XT or 3060. If at 1440p get a 3060 Ti or up or 6700 XT or up, with the same CPU choice. If you don't game but do things like photo or video editing get something like a 12700F with a 3060. If all you do is web browsing you could just get a 12100 or 12400 and run with the iGPU or use the 760.
