Windows Reinstall after CPU upgrade

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

The CPU doesn't have its own drivers, the software pertains to the motherboard instead.

The only thing you would need to update would be the BIOS, if your motherboard needs a newer version for the 5800X3D. Otherwise you should be just fine.

Hi,

I just ordered a Ryzen 5800x3D and want to know if I will run into issues if I do not reinstall Windows 10 after swapping it with my Ryzen 5600x, as I am using a Multi OS Boot with 3 Different Windows 10 Installs each with tons of programs on them that require me to request new licenses for a lot of my programs if I reinstall. So if possible, I really don't want to reinstall 😭.

Current PC Specs

5600x Stock

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro

EVGA FTW RTX 3070

32Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz

2* Samsung 980 Pro 1tb 4.0

2* 2.5" SSD 1tb

1* 4tb Backup

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - dark mode Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

How many watts do I need? Seasonic Focus thread, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
