Thermal paste

Achilles777

I got lost in the world of thermal paste

My first build

Looking for the best thermal paste

Ignored the liquid metal although its the best for cooling but its risky

Then start to go after mx5 good results but hard to apply and its results depend on how good you apply it on the cpu

Thermal grizly kryonut cant withstand temps above 80

Then master gel pro from cooler master good reviews but i dont know y its not as popular as noctua and arctic products

Then noctua nt h2 good results but i read its very sticky and not user friendly

The only one who have good reviews with high selling and user friendly is mx4

But its behind liquid metal by about 6 to 10 degrees and behind mx5 by about 3 to 5 degrees

So is there any recommendation before i go with mx4

I want long term experience

If there is some thing better than mx4 as whole package not only cooling performance

SYY-157 is reportedly good too. At least by reported thermal conductivity. And there are some more.

Yet the difference between good pastes is very marginal.

Also one important aspect is longevity:

I edit my posts more often than not

i have a huge tube of mx-4 and it's been "good enough to not bother changing" for several years.

you'll find more opinions on thermal paste, than options for thermal paste.

for normal day to day use anything 'good enough' is gonna be within margin of error, unless you have the most reliable cooler-tightening-hand ever.
