Upgrade decision, please help

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

I'm planning to upgrade my gaming laptop HP Omen 16-c0013nm with a new SSD and I'm thinking between CRUCIAL P5 1TB and SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus 1TB. I read that 970 EVO has faster read and write speed, but that P5 is all around better and faster and that is heating a little bit more than 970 EVO.

 

Can someone give me some idea or personal experience which one I should choose?

The differences between those two drives is pretty minimal. You could A/B them in the same machine and not be able to tell a difference outside of synthetic benchmarks. Just go for whichever is cheaper
