First ever Build - Advice Wanted

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Made a few changes.

Not much point putting a 'K' cpu on a B660 board. The 12700F is cheaper.

The Gigabyte B660M Gaming X AX is $20 cheaper and still has wifi.

The Scythe Fuma 2 is a much better cooler.

Swapped the SSD to the Team MP34 for less money. Pretty decent SSD and more than enough for a gaming pc.

The Corsair Carbide 175 doesn't look like it has much in the way of airflow. I would go with something with a mesh front like the P400A. I would probably buy an extra fan as it only comes with two. The Arctic P fans are usually pretty cheap. Obviously you can choose something else if the P400A isn't to your liking. Just make sure to check reviews for things like airflow. You can look at gamers nexus for example as they do a lot of case reviews.

The MSI psu is far better than the CoolerMaster in your list.

You can also look for a cheap Windows key on sites that sell game keys. I personally wouldn't pay that much for an OS.

This is my first time doing this so I'm a bit lost, I tried to pick parts with good specs/ pricing (PC part picker doesn't have the same price as the one I found on amazon btw, which is 770 USD here).

Is there anywhere where I am spending too little? Or anywhere where I'm spending too much unnecessarily? Any compatibility issues I should be aware of?

1. PSU isn't good for the price. Spend extra on something like a Corsair RM or MSI AGF.

2. You have a K chip on a B660. You can't overclock on B660 so you should either change to Z690 or drop to the non K model.

3. The cooler isn't bad, but there's better stuff available for a similar price. Something like a Freezer 34 would do.

4. A cheaper SSD would work just as good

5. RX 6800 XT is slightly faster than a 3080 and only slightly more than the 3070 Ti

Edit: this seems good
