i wanted to get a back plate for my asus radeon 7950 v2, ive seen evga backplates for nvdia and was wondering if they have to be gpu specific, or can i use a different one like a 760, if not are there any backplates that would fit it?

It would be more logical if you have a back plate that matches your actual gpu wound't it.

Current rig: CPU: AMD FX-8120  Cooling: Corsair H100i  Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme 3  RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz  GPU: MSI GTX 660Ti Power Edition  Case: Fractal Design Define R4  Storage: 2TB Seagate HDD + 128GB Crucial SSD  PSU: be quiet! 730W bronze

I have seen some for the newer AMD R 200 series but as for older GPUs (like yours) I can't say that I have seen any yet that doesn't mean that they don't exist.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

With that type of cooler I think a backplate might help if any at all. Maybe just for the aesthetics of the card. It might not work since the length of the card, and the position of things are different.

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/
