Hi all, I need some help, if its been posted else where please link me...

I do sound for my Church and we are sending off to Youtube live, via a xlr output from the desk then via pc {Soundcard in the pc, I think someone said it has a 110db ratio????..No idea on the specs of the sound card specifically sorry}.  However the issue I am having I can do a mix that sounds good before it gets to the pc then it well turns terrible when it goes through the pc then off to Youtube land.  Now I can and usually do turn the overall volume down as to not distort the volume after the pc has seen it, however then the level is very low going out.  We also at low volume get signal hum, I am guessing its CPU noise ???   Is there a away ideally hardware based that we can used out side of the pc to send to Youtube,   We do run cameras as well so has to be something ideally we can run a video image to from the pc. This whole area is new to me and its out of my wheel house,  Hoping you guys can point me in the right direction thanks.

Are you feeding the PC line level, unbalanced audio? (Or do you have a proper audio interface?) What kind of mixer are you using? How are you mixing audio and video, is the PC doing it or are you using something like a BlackMagic ATEM switcher?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I am currently mixing line level from an Allen and heath desk from one of the aux channels.  It's a direct line into the pc, I am doing a full mix through the aux channel as to mix it separate to FOH, I am unsure of the program we are using on the pc sorry, Just getting into this side of things, but isn't mixed on the pc, it's just getting the sound I send it.

What are you using to encode video? If you are only sending sound, not video feed, you don't need beefy CPU to encode. But you would still want to use software for encoding on PC. Otherwise you are using YouTube to encode, which is probably the cause here. Also your network upload speeds will determine what kind of bitrate you can use.
