This is just as fast, but cheaper. The 6900 XT performs slightly faster than a 3080 Ti but not much, so which one they choose is preference as it doesn't really matter. But I would wait for the 6950 XT which should release today. It will probably be out of stock or overpriced but you never know.

  • I choose the 12900KF and Z690 over the 5950X and X570. It will perform the same but it's slightly cheaper. You can probably upgrade it to 13th gen too if you want later, while Ryzen 5000 is the last for AM4.
  • This RAM is cheaper and once again it will perform the same.
  • The SSD is much cheaper and between these 2 you won't notice a difference unless you write big files. You could get 2 of them if you want more storage (2x 1tb is cheaper than 1x 2tb)
  • I chose the 6900 XT because it's slightly faster (but really not much) and it has more VRAM. The 3080 Ti is better at RT so it's up to your friend what they buy. Also the 6950 XT should release today which should perform faster than a 3090 (if leaks are correct)
  • The PSU I chose is just as good but also cheaper

The 12900 and 5950 are not very efficient CPUs for VR.  Their both hot as fuck and cost 4 times as much as a CPU that will perform identically.  Just get a 12400 or a 5600 and get a sticker that says i9 or ryzen 9 on ebay for  few dollars and you won't be able to tell the difference.  The 980 pro is also a big waste for gaming when the regular 980 is like half the price and will game exactly the same.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.
