Hello guys,

not quite shure if this is the right subforum but I am looking for advise on building a custom arcade machine.

The thing will be powered with an old AMD Phenom X6 Processor and an R9 280X.

My questions are more about the other stuff, which buttons and sticks should I use? What is the best oriantation for a variaty of old arcade games?

I got a 28 inch flatscreen CRT with SCART and Analog inputs, I am planning to use a HDMI to SCART adapter but is there anything specific I should look for?

Also, what is the best OS for such a project?

I'd look at just using Launchbox/Bigbox on top of Windows.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
