Hey guys,

I've been having a weird issue for the last week or so.

I'm mostly a World of Warcraft player (with a few other single player titles every now and again) and for the last week I've been experiencing random system shutdowns from time to time while playing.

It happens while I'm in combat and so that led me to believe it was a GPU issue, but I've ran a few GPU benchmarks and nothing happened, the GPU was stressed to the limit and no shutdowns.

I already benchmarked both the CPU and the GPU, but the issue never comes back up, only while playing World of Warcraft and while I'm in combat. Sometimes it happens as soon as I get in combat, and other times a few minutes into it.

What weirds me out is that even though the PC turns off, the RGB lights from the RAM sticks remain on.

The issues started after I upgraded to a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (Windows + WoW) and a 500GB SATA Samsung SSD.

I checked thermals and everything seems to be in working order, nothing getting past 75c for the whole session. I just set my GPU Power Limit to 80% with MSI Afterburner to check if it may be a PSU related issue.

My PC specs are:

Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2 (rev 1.x)
Ryzen 5 1600X @ stock speed

EVGA RTX 2070 Super KO @ stock speed

2x Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3000Mhz

Nox Hummer H-240 ARGB Water Cooler

Raidmax Cobra Power 80 Plus Gold 800w Modular PSU

WD Black SN750 1TB NVMe SSD (with heatsink)

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SATA SSD

PCI USB 3.0 HUB

2x Corsair AF120 (White LED only)

NZXT S340 Case

I also have quite a few peripherals plugged into the PC which draw power:
Razer Huntsman v2

Razer Naga Trinity

Razer Kiyo Pro

Razer Seiren Pro V2

Razer Nari Ultimate

Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma

Elgato Stream Deck

3 TB Samsung HD

2 TB WD My Passport HD

Bluetooth Dongle

Can you guys please help me out?
Thanks!

Anyone have any takes on this?

I purchased a new PSU, this time from a more reputable brand (CoolerMaster MWE Gold V2 750W, 80 Plus Gold, Full Modular), and I'm hoping that this issue will subside as soon as I swap it out.

But if it remains, what else should I look into?

Thanks

There's no good place to start here unfortunately, it seems like WoW might be doing something specific that is harming system integrity. You could try to verify the files and also move them to another drive. WoW provides instructions on that which I've linked below.

I've also played WoW and sometimes an add-on is at fault, you might try cycling some on and off and seeing if that helps.

What I would do next is look for errors in event viewer the next time it happens. Keep track of the time so you know exactly when to look in the logs. I've added a pic of what you'll be looking for below.
