60 fps +

im looking into getting a new video card, possibly 2, but i dont want to spend a ton of $, I am a casual gamer so im not too concerned about the crazy 200 fps some people get.
If i wanted any possible game to run at 60 or above, what card should I get? Also im getting 2 cards and putting them in sli.

at what resolution? That's probably not possible.

And it would then run MOST games at over 200 FPS

SLI and crossfire are dead. Almost nothing supports that. And only the RTX 3090 and is assume 3090 ti support SLI. and no new AMD cards support crossfire.

wow stupid, what a bunch of idiots. ill just buy a 3090 TI..I hate when companies do stupid shit like end support, forcing people to basically buy a super expensive card rather than being able to combine 2 decent ones..well nvidia and amd can ** f* ****
O well, ill just hack it and make sli work anyway...

Graphics cards have gotten much more powerful and efficient, the need for SLI/Crossfire to get powerful enough graphics is not a concern anymore.

one more powerful card has always been better than 2 cheaper ones in SLI. (or sometimes 2 equally powerful)

SLI is dead. Little games support them, and even newer 30 series cards like the RTX 3080 don't even have NVLink fingers anymore.

 

What resolution are you looking to run at? What games? I can't confidently say even the RTX 3090 Ti can run ANY POSSIBLE game above 60fps. Need more details before making a recommendation.

well now that I know u cant link them via sli, Its going to be a much harder decision. I think I might settle for a 3060 TI. its all I can afford atm.
And does anyone know why the stopped supporting SLI?

SLI has NEVER been a good price value. A single better card for the same price of 2 lower end cards has always beat out the SLI configuration

Game developers have never properly developed game engines to work well with SLI as the setups aren't very efficient. The cycle continues, little people run even dual top end GPU SLI Setups as little games support it, and eventually GPU makers realise it isn't worth investing so much in a technology not many are using.

Oh ok, thankyou for ur opinion. I have no idea what to get since this is my first pc i built, all i know is, im running a 75 inch 4k tv off of it, and also a ultra wide, and another side monitor, I do alot of schoolwork and book writing, aslong as it can run those things fast. im happy. and also im photoshop, and am into video editing. website making. etc

Do you have a full part list of what you plan to build? As especially video editing is also taxing on your cpu. if you are looking to run games at 4k60 the 3060 Ti should run most titles at 4k60 low-med settings

Already built it, im running a 10900x, at 4.9 ghz. a 1050 HX corsair psu, a x299 pro msi mobo. samsung pro m.2 ssd. and crucial regular SSD. msi coreliquid k360 AIO. and a ASUS tuf gaming white edition, and 128 GB 3600 ram, trident royal silver. still havent bought a good video card, im using a hand me down atm.. Just need a good card now, and ill be ready to build the next pc!! its become a hobby.
Should i just go for an older card? or stay with the 30 series? I think the 40 series is coming out soon too.

depends on how much you are willing to spend, with current GPU prices coming down getting a 30 series isn't that bad

Im thinking on either getting a 3060 TI, or a regular 3060, , Whats a good price to expect? I can get a 3060ti for 950 cad, and I can get a 3060 RTx for 777. CAD

I'd go with the 3060 Ti, but especially gaming in 4K I'd try to squeeze even a 3070 if possible.
