Keyboard Question

Can anyone please tell me what the "Insert" button is used for?

I've noticed it many times but never used it ever so please if anyone knows please do tell.

I also googled it but it said it was used to switch between text modes like overtype and insert but still don't know how its useful !

How about a Techquicke for all those types of keyboard buttons and its significance, please?

Do you really not understand what it does, or do you just not see a situation where what it does would be useful?

 

If they were actually going to devote a video to unraveling the deepest dark mysteries of keyboards I would imagine pause/break and scroll lock would rank somewhere higher on the priority list.

The Insert button does exactly what you said it does.

 

Nowadays it is not really used anymore due build in spellcheckers, and easier text control.

but in the old days, of loong scripts of code, that you could not easily remove, they used the insert button to overwrite a part of a code, without accidentally removing a bracket, or too much text.
