Never heard of such a thing but if you are serious you can get a tiny PC case, gut it so you can fit a regular 1000w PSU, then once that is setup just get some DIY wire loom to run all of your cables from the case to the actual system.

I would probably expect to have to buy custom made cables to get the lengths correct but that could vary depending on your particular setup.

Sounds more like something Linus or Alex might come up with.

That would be a pretty awesome episode to see! I hope they see this and do it! 😁

Mainly I'm planning for the future rtx 40 series graphics cards.

Honestly I would just plan on moving to a larger case so you kill two birds with one stone: Physically fit the 4000 series cards and fit the power supply needed to run them.

Seasonic Connect is pretty much exactly what you have in your drawing. As far as I know it's only available in a 750W model.

It's intended to be used inside the case but I don't really see any reason why you couldn't mount it externally and feed the cable through to the "Connect" bar. The bar is pretty big though (330mm x 64mm x 21mm) so I'm not really sure how much space you'd be saving over just using an SFX PSU, especially since you'd still have an ATX PSU mounted outside the case.

Do you think he can mount it in his "small PC" if he Dremels it in half?

I figure if the case is long enough to fit an RTX 40 series card that requires a 1000w PSU then it's probably long enough to fit the Seasonic connect in it as well. The founders edition 3090 is 313mm long, AIB partner cards are even longer, and I'm sure judging by the rumoured power consumption figures that 40 series cards will have even larger coolers.

This small case probably isn't going to be very small. Unless they're going to take this approach to fitting the GPU in

I'm glad someone mentioned this. I tried finding it yesterday, but couldn't remember what brand did it and generic searches weren't finding it for me.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

But the Seasonic Connect bar is perpendicular to the graphics card.  That's my point.  If you're using a 30 or 40 series card and a Seasonic Connect, it's no longer a "small case".
