Enable xmp AND change dram frequency?

I have a Ryzen 3700 xt cpu, a asrock taichi x570 motherboard with 32gb ram at 3600 mhz. If i enable xmp do i still need to change the default dram frequency? Also what does the infinity fabric do? Thanks for the help

Enabling XMP is all you need to do.

It's how the cores communicate with each other. Ideally it will be half the effective memory frequency on Ryzen, otherwise there's a huge memory latency penalty. It's set like that automatically unless the memory frequency is above IIRC 3800MHz. Don't worry about setting that. Just enable XMP and be done with it.
