Need Help!

I'm thinking to switch to gaming laptop as my "desktop pc" because it's portability. I was looking for either legion 5/5 pro or rog strix G15/17 to play in my 200hz 1080p monitor. What do you guys think? I'm open to any suggestions and my budget is around CAD$1750.

 

my current pc specs :

 

Amd ryzen 5 3600

16GB Ram

Gtx 1060 6gb

256GB m.2 ssd

2tb HDD

240mm Liquid Cooled

I really don't like gaming laptops. They are usually very clunky and don't usually last the longest time. Why not just switch to a SFF build?

Basically this ^ I'm also not a fan of laptops in general and you can get some really small cases now.

I travel twice in a year to my home country and it's kinda a hassle bring an sff build. I don't have a pc back home so I was thinking a gaming laptop that I could bring anywhere would be nice.

What kind of performance do you want and how it compares to your current setup?

I want the one that either matches my pc or even better if you have any recommendation. cause I mostly just play forza 5, nba 2k and a little bit of valorant.

I've had a few lenovo legions and they're great, I recommend them to everyone looking for a laptop

My recommendation would just be go to Lenovo Legion's website, and pick out a laptop

You could very easily get a laptop with a Ryzen 5 and a 3050ti or even a 3060 in that budget, both of which will definitely out perform a 1060

In that case pretty much any GPU starting with RTX 3050 which is on par or a bit faster than your 1060.

 

CPU-wise - Intel i3 12100 matches or outperforms your 3600, so go 12series+ if you can.

AMD 5600H and up - should be similar story

 

RAM: 16GB

My bad, mobile RTX is a ‘step down’, so Desktop 3050 (initial suggestion) would be Mobile ~3050Ti~3060
